Según cuentan aquellos que vivieron la década de los 80, no hubo una época más increíble en la historia de la moda, la música, la televisión y el cine. Tal aseveración es arriesgada e incluso podríamos decir que fantasiosa; quizá sólo ven con nostalgia un pasado que, ahora a la distancia, se ve románticamente chirriante, plástico e impregnado de un fuerte aroma a goma de mascar. Todo aquel que haya vivido su infancia en los 90 o ronde actualmente los veintitantos, sabe perfectamente a qué me refiero; la conexión con esa década es tal que pareciese propia cuando en realidad no lo fue, pero ahí está, fungiendo como puente entre géneros e ídolos musicales, entre comunidades.
De hecho, puede que varias veces al año, incluso al día, se tarareen canciones de las que se desconoce el nombre o los intérpretes, pero están grabadas en nuestro subconsciente, en la cultura popular que erige los pilares primordiales del cielo que nos cobija.
La música de los años 80 reúne; tiene el poder absoluto de hacerse entender entre cuanta gente sea posible y de mantenerse peculiarmente vigente aun con el paso del tiempo. En todos los sentidos que esta frase pueda ser leída, la música de los 80 nunca se va a ir y jamás será superada.
