La paz sigue siendo un sueño lejano para la ciudad siria de Alepo, donde los combates entre soldados e insurgentes se reanudaron el miércoles, truncando las esperanzas de una evacuación rápida de miles de civiles hambrientos y asediados en el reducto rebelde.

Tras una pausa de varias horas, el régimen recomenzó sus bombardeos aéreos y los tiros de artillería. Los habitantes, aterrorizados, huían por las calles en busca de refugio, según un corresponsal de la AFP, que vio a muchos heridos a su alrededor.

Otros intentaban esconderse en los portales de los edificios. El corresponsal vio un tanque del régimen disparando contra los sectores rebeldes.

«La situación es horrible en estos momentos en Alepo», escribió el militante Mohammad al Jatib, contactado por la AFP a través de internet. «Los heridos y los muertos están en las calles, nadie se atreve a retirarlos».

«El bombardeo es continuo, nadie se mueve siquiera. Es una situación indescriptible», agregó.

«Hemos vuelto a la casilla de salida», resumió el director del Observatorio Sirio de Derechos Humanos (OSDH), Rami Abdel Rahman, dando cuenta de, al menos, diez muertos en el puñado de barrios que quedan en manos de los rebeldes, en el sur de la ciudad.

Al menos siete civiles murieron el miércoles por disparos rebeldes contra dos barrios en manos del Gobierno, según la televisión pública siria.

El acuerdo de evacuación habría permitido a los miles de civiles que lo desearan abandonar las últimas posiciones de los rebeldes en la parte este de la ciudad, que conquistaron en 2012, donde están sitiados desde hace más de cuatro meses por el Ejército, privados de medicamentos, servicios básicos y alimentos.

Por su parte, una fuente cercana al Gobierno acusó a los rebeldes de haber intentado aumentar el número de personas evacuadas de 2.000 a 10.000.

Cientos de civiles han muerto y casi 130.000 han tenido que abandonar sus hogares a causa de la ofensiva lanzada el 15 de noviembre por las fuerzas prorrégimen, que controlan ya el 90% de la ciudad.

En el último reducto rebelde de Alepo, principalmente en el barrio de Al Mashad, una multitud de civiles, cargados con sus pertenencias, se agolpaba en las calles.

Por la mañana, una veintena de autocares esperaba en el barrio de Salahedin, dividido entre el régimen y los rebeldes, en vistas de una evacuación que debía haber comenzado a las 03:00, hora GMT.

Pero ésta fue finalmente suspendida a causa de los desacuerdos.

Según un responsable rebelde, el régimen y su aliado iraní «impusieron nuevas condiciones». «Quieren vincular el acuerdo» a que los rebeldes levanten el sitio de los pueblos de Fua y Kefraya, en manos del Gobierno, en la provincia de Idlib, aseguró.

En total, más de 465 habitantes de Alepo este, entre ellos 62 niños, han muerto desde el comienzo de la ofensiva del régimen el 15 de noviembre. Éste ha retomado el 90% de la ciudad. En la parte gubernamental, 142 civiles fueron muertos por los rebeldes.
