Worker’s unions and social organizations will take to the streets answering to the call for an indefinite strike in the departments of Arequipa, Cusco, Apurímac, Moquegua, Madre de Dios, Puno and Ayacucho.

In some regions of Ayacucho, Huancavelica and Apurímac, they are still evaluating if they answer to the call for an indefinite strike, according to La Republica.

Since last December 7, Peru lives a political and social crisis because of the vacancy of Pedro Castillo, his subsequent imprisonment, and the swearing in of Boluarte as president of the Andean country.Massive mobilization for Peru

Social organizations massively went out to the streets to demand the freedom of Castillo and the resignation of Boluarte, while the security forces repressed some of the mobilizations. In the midst of this crisis, 22 civilians died in clashes and six others lost their lives due to traffic accidents and other incidents linked to road blocking.

Within the framework of the mobilizations, Boluarte criticized the participants. «They have the constitutional right to come out and protest, but do not take the streets», said the president on Friday, December 30.

Boluarte also denied on Tuesday that her government had «all the responsibility» in the violent events and in the deaths registered during the protests.

«On repeated opportunities, I have told the families ‘I’m sorry’, the death of these people hurts in my heart. Dina Boluarte did not cause the violence», said the president in an interview with La Republica.

«We cannot be putting the entire responsibility on the Executive, because we have not said ‘Hey, go out and take the airports; Hey, go out and make a fire here or a fire there», she added.

The Boluarte government decreed the State of emergency in the territory, so the National Police and the Armed Forces are empowered to intervene in case of protests on public roads, which increases the fear of possible violent incidents during the restart of the call to participate in the indefinite strike.

From the ruling party they summoned a «march for peace» this Tuesday, November 3 to counteract the mobilizations in favor of Castillo.
